Data Deletion
This page explains how to delete your data from Selma AI, including data we access when you connect a Facebook Page, Instagram Business account or TikTok account.
1. What data we hold for connected social accounts
When you connect a social account to Selma so that your assistant can publish posts you approve, we store:
- an access token that authorises publishing on your behalf (stored encrypted);
- the identifiers of the Page / account you connected;
- the posts and media you explicitly approved for publishing, and their status / permalinks.
We never publish anything you have not approved, and we do not read your private messages.
2. How to delete your data
You can request deletion of your data in any of the following ways.
Option A — Disconnect inside Selma (instant)
Open your Selma dashboard, go to the social account you connected and choose Disconnect. This immediately deletes the stored access token and the account identifiers, and revokes our ability to publish. This is the fastest way and you can do it yourself at any time.
Option B — Remove Selma from Facebook / Instagram
- Go to your Facebook Settings & privacy → Settings → Business integrations (facebook.com/settings?tab=business_tools).
- Find Selma in the list of connected apps and select Remove.
- This revokes our access on Meta's side. To also erase the data already stored in Selma, use Option A or Option C.
Option C — Email request
Send an email to sokhinov@gmail.com with the subject "Data deletion request" and tell us which account you want erased (the email you use for Selma, and the connected Page / account name). We will confirm and complete the deletion within 30 days, and usually much sooner.
3. What gets deleted
- the stored access / refresh tokens for the connected account;
- the connection record (Page / account identifiers);
- the content drafts and publishing history associated with that connection.
Posts that were already published to your own Page or profile are your content on the social platform — deleting them is done from that platform directly, not through Selma.
4. Timeline
Disconnecting in-app (Option A) is immediate. Email requests (Option C) are completed within 30 days. Backups that may transiently contain the data are rotated and overwritten on a rolling basis and are not used for any other purpose.
